Overview

People who live in staffed homes have 24-hour professional support to live full lives at home and in the community.

UNITI offers a variety of staffed homes as long-term residences, allowing people to live full lives as community members in a home-like environment supported by 24-hour professional staffing. People living in these homes plan and live their own lives with support from family, friends, and their support team.

The professional support team at UNITI are all trained in the Person-Centred Practices philosophy. This approach, also known as Person-Centred Thinking, is about tailoring support to the individual. It fosters happiness, health, and safety through unique, personalised strategies for each person living in their home. In this model, the team works with the supported individual to identify what is important to and for them. “Important to” focuses on what brings the person joy, purpose, and comfort, while “important for” centres on maintaining the person’s emotional and physical well-being. This individualised approach ensures that each person can lead their own life with the support of their family, friends, and the dedicated staff.
